Types and styles of writing which contain nominalisation
It is important that English teachers help to prepare students for the type of language they can expect to encounter in their other subjects.
Mathematics, history, geography and especially science are all subjects in which nominalisation is a characteristic feature, and one of the reasons why so many students have problems understanding texts in these subjects.
In addition to these subjects, students will encounter nominalisation in a wide range of text types, such as:
