Ellipsis in wh-clauses
In this type of ellipsis, the whole clause except for an introductory wh- word is
omitted:
A: I assume he'll contact me first? B: Yeah. I don't know when [^] though. (Bank of English) When I had chosen what I wanted to buy, two young people entered the shop."I have met them before, but where [^]?" (TeleNex Students)
