Using will to indicate intention
Many occurrences of will fall into the category of intention, where the
idea of prediction is combined with the idea of willingness .
Unilever products likely to be targeted include those without big international sales or a strong local niche. Fitzgerald said last year: "We will make sure that we avoid the dead middle ground". (Bank of English)
Some grammar books reserve a special mention for the
use of will (usually contracted to 'll) to refer to a decision which the
speaker makes as they speak:
