Introduction
Linking verbs are verbs like be, seem, look, become, symbolise and
represent which link one noun with a complement, which is normally either another noun, an
adjective or a prepositional phrase
:
I am a midwife and my partner is a teacher. (Bank of English)
Taking on temporary staff seems more and more common. (Bank of English)
Well, Britain is in Europe. Britain was in Europe under King Canute.
