Text types: Texts for social interaction

Classroom interaction Note

What is classroom interaction?

In the classroom we use social interactions to learn from others and with others. Students learn by listening and talking to their teachers and classmates.

Classroom interaction has several purposes:

Students use class interaction to learn about school subjects.
Teachers use classroom interaction to organise and manage the classroom.
Teachers and students together use classroom interaction in order to build a community of learners.

Active participation in classroom interaction is an important way for Hong Kong students to develop English language skills.
