A list of verbs which commonly take two objects

The following verbs take an indirect object (typically a person) who is the receiver of the direct object. Note that these indirect objects can be introduced by the preposition to :

    bring     feed     forward    give
    hand     lease     leave    lend
    loan     mail     offer    owe
    pass     pay     play    post
    read     rent     repay    sell
    send     serve     show    sing
    take     teach     tell    write

The following verbs take an indirect object (typically a person) who in some way benefits from the direct object. Note that these indirect objects can be introduced by the preposition for :

    book     bring     build     buy
    cash     cook     cut     design
    fetch     find     fix     get
    guarantee     keep     leave     make
    mix     order     paint     pick
    play     pour     prepare     reserve
    save     secure     set     sing
    spare     take     win     write
